Is a passport required to enter the Dominican Republic?

 

Yes. However there are some countries exempted from this requirement. For a list of these countries please contact a Dominican Consulate.

 

Does an Thai citizen require a passport or a visa to enter the Dominican Republic?

 

Yes. Thai citizens would need to present both passport and visa  at the port of entry.

 

Does an American citizen require a passport to enter the Dominican Republic?

 

No. However American citizens would need to present at the port of entry legal documentation that certifies his/her nationality, such as a birth certificate, voter registration or an affidavit by a public notary.

 

Is a Visa required for an American Citizen to enter the Dominican Republic?

 

No. The only entry requirement for passport holders will be to purchase a tourist card, at the Dominican Consulate or at your arrival at the airport in the Dominican Republic.

 

Does a Green Card holder need a Visa to enter the Dominican Republic?

 

No. Any American resident, no matter their country of origin, can travel to the Dominican Republic with their valid passport, green card and purchasing a tourist card.

 

Is a Visa required for non U.S. citizens?

 

There are many countries waved of Visa requirements for its citizens to enter the Dominican Republic. This list is updated on a regular basis. Please contact the nearest Dominican Republic’s Consulate to supply you with this list of countries.

Is it possible for an alien couple to get married in the Dominican Republic and what do you need?

 

Yes. Actually, many people prefer to get married in the Dominican Republic. You will need a passport, birth certificate, certification or proof that the person is single, signed by a public notary and also legalized by the Dominican Consulate closest to you. For divorce inquires, the Embassy can provide a list of Law firms in the Dominican Republic that can assist you and a brief description of the legislation.
